About ‘Scheveningen pier’ by Martijn van der Nat
Scheveningen's harbour head in a somewhat alienating shot. By using a long shutter speed, everything that moves becomes blurred. The water the clouds become milky and soft. This increases the contrast with the large blocks of stone and creates a calmer more balanced composition.
