About ‘The Koornbrug in Leiden’ by Martijn van der Nat
The Koornbrug (locally: Koornbeursbrug) is a well-known bridge over the water of the Nieuwe Rijn river in the centre of Leiden. The bridge dates from 1642 and owes its name to the fact that corn was traded there. In the 17th century, the bridge was renewed to a design by Arent van 's-Gravesande.
