Sandstorm in the dunes in the largest mobile coastal sand mass in the southern hemisphere at Stockton Bight. As the sand blows across the surface, nothing seems sharp in this image. The first rays of sunlight of the day add a beautiful, abstract texture to the photograph. The creation of the landscape began over 100,000 years ago and these huge dunes are 'alive' and changing forever. Stockton itself is the longest beach in the state at 32 miles and the dunes offer endless appeal. Their shape, slope and stability depend on the weather.
