Salacious – an intense and mysterious portrait of a man

by Hilde Remerie – Digital Art, Bauhaus & Photography

From the Dark Romance collection, here is ‘Salacious’
‘He is the scandal you’ll never want to survive’

**Salacious** is an intense and mysterious portrait of a man, in which the gaze and the strong facial features take centre stage. The face is depicted close-up, so that the dark eyes, powerful eyebrows, thick dark hair and pronounced jawline immediately catch the eye. The man’s calm, almost reserved demeanour lends the portrait an intriguing character.

The light falls subtly across the face, illuminating parts of the skin, whilst the sides are largely lost in deep shadow. It is precisely this contrast between light and dark that gives **Salacious** its exciting and cinematic quality. The portrait feels personal and intimate, yet at the same time the man remains difficult to fathom. This makes the work particularly well-suited to lovers of mysterious portraiture and dark romantic art.

The name **Salacious** suits the seductive, self-assured atmosphere of the image. The work has something of a character from a dark romantic film or fantasy novel about it: attractive, enigmatic and with a gaze that does not fully reveal the story.

This **mysterious portrait of a man** fits beautifully into a modern interior, bedroom, study or reading room where characterful wall art is desired. The dark background and limited colour palette make the face stand out strongly, ensuring the artwork retains its impact even when displayed large on the wall.

**Salacious** is therefore an evocative portrait for lovers of **dark romance, intense portraits of men and mysterious art** – an image that lingers in the mind, particularly because of his gaze.
