Two zebras stand in the middle of one of the roads in Etosha National Park, Namibia. One looks straight into the camera, whilst the safari vehicle is visible at the side. A special moment in which humans and nature literally meet.

The power of this image lies in its simplicity. The black-and-white photography emphasises the zebras’ distinctive stripes and creates a timeless, almost cinematic atmosphere. The empty road, the sweeping horizon and the vast landscape reinforce the sense of freedom, adventure and tranquillity.

At the same time, the photograph tells a deeper story. The zebras appear completely at ease, going their own way, whilst we, as observers, are merely guests in their world. The direct eye contact with the zebra in the foreground makes the moment personal and evokes a sense of wonder and respect for nature.
