A SEPECAT Jaguar of the British Air Force at night. The SEPECAT Jaguar is a fighter-bomber that had been developed in the early 1960s by a Franco-British partnership of the firms Bréguet and British Aerospace. The firms united to develop this aircraft in the Société Européenne de Production de l'Avion d'École de Combat et d'Appui Tactique (SEPECAT). The aircraft was primarily designed to provide air support (close air support); later versions were also equipped for strike/interdiction missions. In addition, the aircraft could be used as a trainer. The versions for the French Air Force gained strike/interdiction capability from 1978 and were made suitable for throwing the French AN-52 nuclear bomb.
