Rubjerg Knude lighthouse is located on the coast of the North Sea in Jutland, Denmark. It was first commissioned on 27 December 1900, but decommissioned on 1 August 1968 due to coastal erosion and shifting sand dunes. The lighthouse stands atop the Lønstrup Klint (cliff) and is slowly surrounded by the sand. This picture was taken with the intention of exuding minimalism, emptiness and serenity. The two shades of blue of the sea contrast nicely with the light colour of the sand and the lighthouse.
