Royal Air Force F-16B Fighting Falcon (J-882). The General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multipurpose jet fighter widely used since 1979. In the Netherlands and Belgium, this aircraft was the successor to the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter.
The last F-16s of the Royal Air Force will be withdrawn from service in 2024. The replacement of the F-16 by the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II has been in full swing since 2019. This picture was taken on 8 June 2021 at Leeuwarden Air Base.
