Royal Air Force F-16 Solo Display Team 2014.
The F-16 Demo Team, also called F-16 Solo Display Team, was a demonstration team of the Dutch Royal Air Force. The team represented the Royal Air Force during (inter)national demonstrations since 1979. The team went to various events at home and abroad each summer season to give flight shows with the F-16 fighter aircraft. Due to operational pursuits, the team did not fly in 2015. In the following years, it proved difficult, if not impossible, to find sufficiently qualified personnel and no longer participated in air shows. In 2018, it was therefore decided to stop completely as of January 2019.
This photo was taken during AIR14 on September 6, 2014, Payerne Air Base. The flight demonstration during this airshow was unfortunately one of the last of the team.
AIR14 was a grand airshow celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Swiss Air Force held at the Swiss airbase in Payerne. The event took place on two consecutive weekends.
