The 3,971-metre-high Rottalhorn (shown here from the north) has long been overshadowed in mountaineering circles by its famous neighbours, the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. It was not until 2023 that the 1,000-metre-high west face of the Rottalhorn was climbed for the first time.
