About "Roses in the dark"

About the artwork

This painting in the style of the old masters presents an enchanting still life of roses enveloped in dramatic chiaroscuro. The composition is dominated by deep shadows, from which the flowers emerge like sparkling jewels in the dark.

The roses, with their lush, velvety petals, are only partially illuminated. Their deep red colour is intense but muted, as if seen in the soft light of a dying candle. The flowers range from fully opened flowers to half-opened buds, adding a sense of time and development.

The light, applied sparingly but effectively, accentuates the delicate edges of the petals, creating soft highlights that contrast with the surrounding darkness. Dewdrops or water droplets shimmer here and there, adding a subtle vibrancy.

Dark green leaves and stems are barely visible in the shaded areas, their shapes only suggested by faint outlines and subtle colour differences.

The background is almost completely shrouded in darkness, drawing full attention to the roses and creating an atmosphere of intimacy and mystery. This painting captures the timeless beauty and drama of the rose, inviting the viewer to contemplate the transience of beauty and the power of light in darkness.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
