About the artwork

Detail from the work River with ruin and bridge by François Boucher (1703-1770). A rococo work that Nop Briex has adapted in an impressionistic way by painting on a photo with oil paint. Art that falls under the category of appropriation art. Re-cycle art.

I am a big proponent 'appropriation art' or recycling art. The reuse of artwork by painters of yesteryear.

Putting already created art or already existing objects into a new context is not new. Vincent van Gogh copied famous paintings, even by Delacroix and Rembrandt, but in his own style. In 1856 Ingres copied the portrait of Madame Moitessier in his own style. Marcel Duchamp may be mentioned as the first to use the so-called "ready mades" and bombard them as art objects. Appropriation art is seen in Dadaism, Cubism, Surrealism, Pop Art and Neo-Geo Art and continues to this day.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
