About "Rising sea levels | Climate change"

About the artwork

If everything continues like this, sea levels could rise. This is dramatic for a society and economy that has comfortably adjusted to constant conditions - which have never existed and never will. Everything is flowing - this time even in the literal sense. But what to do? That's what the gentleman with the bowler hat is thinking about. It doesn't look like he has a solution.

The surrealist style fits the theme. Surrealism is an artistic movement that went against traditional norms and rational reality. It searched for a new, higher reality hidden in the unconscious, in dreams and in the imagination. It used unusual, contradictory and distorted images to express this reality. Surrealism emerged in Paris in the 1920s and was represented by writers such as André Breton and artists such as Salvador Dalí, Joan Miró and René Magritte.
