The Geestmerambacht recreation area is located on the western side of the municipality of Langedijk in the Dutch province of North Holland.
The area is built around the 'Zomerdel', a large lake surrounded by meadows and woodlands. The area is about 200 hectares, 40 hectares of forest with walking and cycling paths and 75 hectares of water of swimming water quality.[1] There is room for holding events, annual festivals are Indian Summer Festival and Liquicity.[2] Around the lake there are facilities for relaxation on and near the water, including sandy beaches and lawns.
The area is managed by Recreation Noord-Holland NV. The recreation board is a partnership on the basis of the Joint Arrangements Act and is managed by the municipalities of Heerhugowaard, Alkmaar, Langedijk and Bergen. Since 1 January 2017 the Province of Noord-Holland and the municipality of Schagen are no longer part of the recreation board.
