The inspiration for this image came during a trip to Iceland, at a time when I myself was looking for stillness. In the Hallgrímskirkja, I found just that: space to breathe. This photo is not a registration, but an imagination of the feeling this place evoked in me.
The atmosphere is serene, cool and tranquil. The work invites reflection and gives a sense of breathing space. It evokes the emotion of rising above the everyday somewhere, without losing connection with the here and now.
I deliberately chose a minimalist approach, both while photographing and in post-processing. No excess, just a subtle play of lines, light and silence.
