Set against a fiery, blazing sky this rugged piece speaks to mans ability to thrive and prosper even in more inhospitable worlds and as such speaks to our ability to triumph over adversity.
Like all my work this piece is inspired by the commercial art of the 1970s and 1980s, specifically the science fiction and fantasy art of my youth as found on book covers/video game box art/comics/advertisements/movie posters/vhs sleeves etc. of those eras.
I hope to convey the sense of wonder and outlandishness that this "genre" imparted and continues to impart in me, a future that while sometimes a little bit on the spooky side was at least thrilling and, ultimately, optimistic about humanities endeavors and adventures yet to come.
