Visions from a future past.
An arcology set in a rainforest, it's landmass has a bridge across the water for an access point and in front of it are smaller artificial islands with their own cities highlighting the stupendous proportions of this structure.
The background features additional megacities and even an orbital spire coming in for a landing much like the re-entry of todays reusable rockets the whole set against a fiery blazing sky.
The whole serves as an illustration how even colossal architecture might be integrated in to a lush environment without undue disturbance to nature.
Like all my work this piece is inspired by the commercial art of the 1970s and 1980s, specifically the science fiction and fantasy art of my youth as found on book covers/video game box art/comics/advertisements/movie posters/vhs sleeves etc. of those eras.
I hope to convey the sense of wonder and outlandishness that this "genre" imparted and continues to impart in me, a future that while sometimes a little bit on the spooky side was at least thrilling and, ultimately, optimistic about humanities endeavors and adventures yet to come.
