The resistance monument is a monument in honour of the Dutch resistance during the Second World War.
It consists of a six-metre high statue of a woman carrying a torch, as a symbol of the resistance. The statue was made by sculptor Corinne Franzén-Heslenfeld. The woman is classically designed, with a bared upper body and a draped skirt. The choice for a female figure was conscious, because of the part Utrecht women played in the resistance. The monument was unveiled on 4 May 1949 by Prince Bernhard. The National Remembrance Service for the dead is held at this monument in Utrecht.
