The beach poles in this sculpture are part of the Palendorp on Petten beach. A quiet composition with not too many beach poles was chosen. In the middle is a view through to open sea and the horizon. It is the golden hour and the warm glow of the sunlight caresses the beach poles. The sky is cloudless and blue with the orange light of the setting sun on the horizon. Because it is windless, the water is a mirror in which the beach piles reflect in their entirety. On the piece of beach at the bottom right, sand ridges are just visible. My inspiration for this image is the work of Bas Meelker (landscape photographer). After taking a workshop from him, I put his tips into practice. I sought peace in the tangle of poles and used a filter to reduce the light of the setting sun. The image exudes peace and for me is a reminder of a beautiful spring day in March of the year 2022.
