This image is a collage of red roses. I chose this because I wanted to fill the whole image. I love the shape of the rose so much that I keep photographing this. But often I then find the picture of it a bit sweet. In this image, I went for a more edgy look, with sharper contrasts and deeper black. It is the darker side of the rose, the feature of its thorns, which can also sting really viciously.
This rose is in my own garden and smells amazing. It is a joy every year when the roses bloom. I often put one of the flowers on my desk so that my entire workspace fills with rose scent.
