Red deer are the largest deer living in the Netherlands. Among others on the Veluwe they roam freely. If you are lucky you will encounter them in the early or late twilight. The males in particular make a big impression with their large antlers!
This red deer came out of cover early to eat from the fresh green grass. Because his antlers are still under construction he needs a lot of food. The forest is very green in the spring. The red deer therefore stands out beautifully against the natural background!
