About "Reading woman of Gerard Dou"

About the artwork

The famous Dutch painter Gerard Dou created the original work around c. 1631 -1632. It shows an old woman reading in the Bible.
The Bible, a state translation, is rendered in such detail that you can clearly see what the woman is reading: the beginning of the nineteenth chapter of Luke's gospel.
This work has been transformed into a new master. Above the Bible now hangs a modern lamp powered by electricity. Art with a twist, from old masters and new masters.

About the image maker: as a born and bred Amsterdammer, Peter feels a close connection to the city of Amsterdam. Over the years, he has produced a lot of work, not only of Amsterdam, but also other cities at home and abroad fill his portfolio. Landscape and macro photography are also part of his work.

He has also earned his spurs as a digital artist, especially with adaptations of old masters, such as this unique work.

Peters' work is widely sold and hangs on walls in various European countries.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
