About "Rainy day at the old harbour La Cala in Palermo"

About the artwork

La Cala" is one of the oldest parts of Palermo's harbour, which is located in the historic city centre.
Beautiful yachts and fishing boats are moored here.
The fantastic view over this ancient and charming harbour basin attracts visitors from all over the world at any time of year.
This photo was taken with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 50.0 mm f/1.4) during my Easter photo trip on the beautiful island of Sicily in the late, grey afternoon hours of 22 April 2022.

The location of today's harbour of Palermo is the result of the natural features of the coastline that have formed this bay since time immemorial.
Its use as a harbour by the Phoenicians has been documented since the 8th century BC. Until the second half of the 19th century and the last extension of Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the two streams Kemonia and Papireto, which flowed into the Mediterranean here, could still be seen above ground.
From the 16th century onwards, cargo handling shifted more and more to the neighbouring New Harbour to the north.

The muted rainy atmosphere lends the motif a mysterious and enchanting, fairytale-like atmosphere.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
