While visiting the city of Roermond, I walk through the city with some good friends. They show me the way, I don't live there and I don't know where the best spots are.
We actually enjoy walking through the city and it is still a beautiful spring day. Above the church there is a dark cloud, but yes, we continue walking....
Just over the bridge we feel a few drops falling, and because I have a camera with me, we decide to walk a little harder. But it is already too late. It starts to rain very hard and we even hear thunder in the distance.
One of the friends says: let's run a little bit further so we can take shelter there. And we start sprinting to the alley. We get there very wet and check how long the rain will last. At least another 10 minutes.
From the alley we can see both sides of Roermond well, and I start looking around me. I often look at certain situations differently than others, which is why I decided to take a picture of the rain as well.
The digital camera was at home, and therefore could only see the result after developing it. And the result is really great! This image is and will always be one of my favorites. If only because of the story behind it.
