I made this photograph at dusk on a narrow canal where a leaning bell tower marks the distance. Boats rested against the walls and the first lamps folded warm light into the water. I was drawn to the quiet bend and the way the tower set a calm cadence for the scene.
I used a steady support and a slow exposure to smooth the surface while keeping edges clean. Notice the worn moorings, a small green glow near a doorway, and the soft trail of color that runs down the canal. The palette stays balanced so the print pairs well with stone, linen, and wood.
The feeling I aimed for is collected and unhurried. For me this image is about everyday Venice, where work and beauty share the same path at an easy speed.
