To the north of the Schloßberg, the Finkenherd adjoins the Schloßplatz. There are some very old half-timbered houses here, which are overlooked by the nearby castle and the collegiate church of St Servatii. According to legend, it was here in 919 that Duke Henry of Saxony was offered the title of King of Germany while catching birds.
Finkenherd 1 is a listed building dating from the late Middle Ages in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the 1970s.
