De passie voor fotografie stamt uit mijn tienertijd. Met mijn compactcamera van 5 gulden schoot ik heel wat rolletjes vol. Op mijn vijftiende kocht ik van het met mijn krantenwijk bij elkaar gespaarde geld (en een donatie van mijn lieve ouders) mijn eerste spiegelreflexcamera, een Asahi Pentax K 1000, jaren later gevolgd door een aantal andere spiegelreflexcamera's.
