The Posbank near Rheden is one of the most beautiful pieces of nature in the Netherlands. The landscape here is hilly, up to 90 meters high. The hills of the Veluwe have a special history. These hills arose during the various ice ages. Once upon a time there were glaciers in the area around the Posbank. They pushed sand and stones in front of them. When the weather got warmer the ice melted and the stones and sand stayed behind. These weirs fell prey to rain and wind. So the lower parts became deeper. And you can still see these hills as in this picture.
