There are several pumpkins in the photo. Two white pumpkins are in the foreground, with more orange pumpkins behind them. A glass vase with dry twigs can be seen on the right of the picture. The picture is rustic and autumnal and was intended to capture the mood of the season. Of course, pumpkins are typical, but so is the melancholy mood, the dark, muted colours, against which the bright orange of the pumpkins in the background stands out. The dry twigs have been picked in autumn.
The still life is a heavily processed photograph with textures. The intention was actually to create an old-masterly atmosphere, but I always like to be surprised by chance, because when working with textures it is not always possible to predict what the end result will be. I can't say that I've planned the process from A to Z either. I do have an image in my head, but I usually choose my textures and my editing in advance according to my mood. In my opinion, the result went well with the dull, grey, rainy day that heralded the end of the year. You can feel a bit of cheerfulness from the orange of the pumpkins, but also the hint of approaching winter from the dark, muted colours of the surroundings.
