About "Prunus picker"

About the artwork

I found this collared parakeet in a flowering prunus on the Cramwinkelplantsoen in Purmerend. It sat higher up in the tree and kept plucking flower after flower from the tree before dropping them. No idea why. He didn't eat them. But he took them away and kept dropping them. He was not alone by the way. There were three others, doing exactly the same thing. Big job and maybe they realised that was a hopeless task, because after a while all three flew away. In that neighbourhood, there are three roughly equally tall prunuses, each heavily flowering. This collared parakeet just had a flower in its beak when I photographed it.
Collared parakeets are beautiful exotic birds. Originate from Africa and India, north of the equator. They were ornamental birds in the 1960s, but escaped and became feral and appear to be able to hold their own in the colder Dutch climate. They usually fly in groups and you can hear them hooting from afar, as they squawk quite a lot. And they eat prunuses bare, I now know.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
