The Bindalm at the end of the Klausbach Valley in the Berchtesgaden National Park is an impressive place. The peaks of the Reither Alm tower directly opposite: Stadelhorn, Mühlsturzhörner, Grundübelhörner and, on the far left, the Häuselhorn. These are coveted destinations for climbers and mountaineers, and a tremendous backdrop for hikers. The cosy alpine pasture with cows and the tinkling of cowbells creates a lovely contrast to this wild mountain world, but its location can only be guessed in in this picture. The picture conveys much of what the national park stands for: pristine nature.
Images like this work best in black and white thanks to the high contrasts.
