About ‘Pretty pink abstract painting’ by Lida Bruinen

For this work, I started with 12 small paintings on paper. By adding different layers of lines, collage, and acrylic paint, I created increasing layers and depth in each painting. By using the same colours for each painting and also the same imagery, it has become a series that fits well together. The most striking colour is hard pink, but pastel colours of yellow and blue are also common. The black gives strength and spice. Free expression. I photographed the paintings. I digitally merged the 9 works that matched best into this mixed media work. There is a lot to see in this work, you discover more and more the longer you look. The work has a warm atmosphere and the fuchsia pink makes it hip and feminine. The black gives power. It fits in a modern interior, but also very well in a children's room or business space. Bring cheer into your room!
