The North American T-2 Buckeye was a US Navy training aircraft intended to introduce student pilots of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marines to fighter jets. The aircraft entered service in 1959 to replace the Lockheed T2V SeaStar. In 2008, the Buckeye was replaced by the McDonnell Douglas T-45 Goshawk.
This photo was taken on 6 November 2014 during a base visit to Naval Air Station Whiting Field in Florida.
