About "Praying mantis cleaning"

About the artwork

This picture was taken in Sri Lanka when a praying mantis strayed into our hotel room. It was a great pleasure to observe this wonderful creature in peace. The result is this stunning black and white picture. You can see how the praying mantis is pulling one of its antennae through its mouth parts to clean it. A truly beautiful portrait of this little monster and a wonderful moment on this trip.
As usual for extreme macro photography, the depth of field is very shallow and makes much of the image appear blurred. But this is exactly what draws the viewer's eye to the incredible details and leaves the rest to the imagination. The fine details on the head of the praying mantis are clearly recognisable and if you want, you can even count the individual facets of the eye ;)
Perfect for an aesthetic wall decoration with a penchant for minimalism and elegant design.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
