The European Sea Eagle has re-established itself permanently in the Netherlands. Its nickname "the flying door" says enough about the size of this enormous bird of prey with a wingspan of up to 2.5 metres. You can easily encounter it in the Biesbosch, the Lauwersmeer and the Oostvaardersplassen, but it is also increasingly being spotted in the rest of the Netherlands.
