About ‘Portrait of a woman reading Hand-painted with oil pastel.’ by Ineke de Rijk
Figurative portrait of a reading v rouw painted with oil pastel. She is relaxing in a blue chair with her book and a glass of wine. A day of doing nothing what could be finer than that.
The colours of the painting are in yellow and blue with a little brown. They are nice summer colours and it radiates cheerfulness. Her hair is tied…

Ineke de Rijk's inspiring travels
From the Algarve to The GambiaI have time to draw and paint more after years of volunteer work for the St. Care Foundation The Gambia. Inspiration I got in the Gambia where I also lived. The colors, the population and life is a great source of inspiration. But also the quieter life now is inspiring to use softer colours and to work more with pastel chalk. But still it's nice to work in all kinds of colours and to try out new techniques and new materials.
