Anthonis Mor van Dashorst (and studio), Portrait of a man, 1561 Anthonis Mor van Dashorst hailed from Utrecht and specialised in portraits. He received commissions from various members of the Habsburg court and travelled through large parts of Europe to do so. Who the man portrayed is is unknown. He will have been of high birth. The golden clothes and necklaces confirm his wealth. This painting is the oldest in the Mauritshuis' collection painted on linen.
