This work shows a close-up of a Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) standing in the water of a river in northern Botswana. I photographed this colossal beast just after sunset when it was starting to get dark. The hippo wanted to graze on the river bank, but was disturbed by my presence. It hesitates whether to leave the water and stares at me. After a few minutes, the hippo finally decides it is better to wait for the photographer to leave and goes back into the water. The massive and dark animal looking straight into the camera and the slightly ccold colouring gives this photo a menacing look.
