Portrait of a geisha with a glass

by Henk Egbertzen

A breathtaking portrait that explores the boundaries between tradition and modern art. A geisha gazes at you with a calm, piercing gaze, bathed in a mysterious, dark light.

It is as though she is being viewed through a broken mirror or a digital grid. Fine, metallic lines and translucent geometric planes create a pattern across her skin, without concealing her features. The glass structures catch the light and give her an otherworldly glow.
- Her kimono is a riot of colour. Deep shades of green and purple blend together, adorned with delicate cherry blossoms and geometric fans. It is a celebration of Eastern elegance with a modern twist. - In the background stands a meticulously shaped bonsai, fading into the darkness. The contrast between the clean, gleaming lines of the grid and the soft, organic forms of nature is striking.

This artwork evokes a sense of mystery and power. The impenetrable gaze and the sleek glass structure lend her an elusive quality, as if she were carrying a message from another world.

In an interior, this is an absolute statement piece. It fits perfectly in a modern living room, a creative workspace or a high-end hotel lobby where art and design come together.
