Five poppies stand together in a beautiful composition. They have their heads turned toward the sun. Because of the backlight of the sun, the poppy with the longest stem is almost luminous. You can also see the different petals in various shades of red.
To make the bright red of the poppy stand out even better, I edited the background: it is almost black. If you look closely, you can also see some shades of green and purple.
These five were in the verge of the field near my house in Chaugey (FR). They have different stages of blooming and being out of bloom. The poppy with the longest stem is at its peak. The two on the left and right immediately below it are on their way to the top. The poppy on the far left is already starting to fall apart a bit. The poppy at the very bottom has really finished blooming and is also starting to fade a bit.
