The Ponte Sant'Angelo, or Bridge of Angels, is a bridge of Roman origin in Rome. The bridge connects the Castle of Angels (Castel Sant'Angelo -left in the picture) with the other side of the Tiber. The bridge was built in 134 and commissioned by Emperor Hadrian, who wanted a direct connection from the city to his newly built mausoleum, today's Angel Castle.
