The poles on the beach of Flushing, are not real breakwaters but a construction to prevent the beach from wearing away by the currents along the coast. The depth of field fascinates photographers and other visual artists alike. The shot was taken with a long exposure time of 14 sec, so the sky and water do not have a strong show-through but exude a dreamy atmosphere. The hard structure and texture on and of the poles forms a strong contrast with this.
