The windmill 'Goliath' is a polder mill or wind-jack mill of the octagonal upper crucible type. Like most polder mills, the northernmost of the Groninger polder mills is a ground-sailer. The Goliath was built in 1897 to replace its predecessor, which was destroyed by fire that year.
