The water in this polder canal is very high, almost as high as the road. The water dominates the photo, the canal has become very wide and almost touches the road. The verge has become very narrow and barely holds back the water. The weather is clear and almost windless. The sky reflects dark blue in the water. There is a nice central perspective towards the horizon. It is in the centre of the picture. It is the beginning of spring, the still bare trees within are slowly getting some leaves. It is late afternoon and I am standing with my shoes in a layer of water.
