This scenic nature shot was taken on 21 May 2021 in the early evening hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 20.0 mm f/2.8). The true yellow splash of colour in the midst of the green nature gives the picture motif a harmonious, colourful and warm atmosphere.

The Barnim district is rich in nature. From a bird's eye view in early summer, you can see almost nothing but green. Embedded in it are dark and light-coloured bodies of water, small and large lakes, canals and the large river at the edge. You almost have to look for the towns and villages among all the greenery. You can find them by following the roads, which can often only be recognised by the lines of the avenue trees. The settlements are also largely green - "greened through", as the conservationists say. In the more densely built-up city centres and in the commercial areas on the outskirts, other colours predominate - on roofs, streets, market squares and car parks. But even here there are splashes of green. People here appreciate the greenery, whether they are living, working or even shopping.
The Barnimer Land is characterised by five natural landscapes. In addition to the best known, the Schorfheide-Chorin Biosphere Reserve, the region is also home to the Ice Age Land Geopark on the edge of the Oder, the Grumsin Forest (World Heritage Site) and the Chorin Forest. The Finow Canal offers numerous activities for water enthusiasts.
The biosphere reserve is characterised by beech forests interspersed with small lakes and moors, extensive lakes and hilly cultural landscapes with numerous small bodies of water. Its varied landscape was created during the last ice age.
