On the morning that I photographed this woodland scene with sun rays, I initially thought that the conditions were not good in this forest on the Veluwe and so I drove to another one instead. There I photographed in magical misty conditions and after a few hours I drove back to this forest and to my surprise sun rays were appearing everywhere in the forest. I spotted these beech trees of which the diagonals mirrored those of the sun rays in the background and with the dominant branch mirroring the lines of the sun rays on the left of the image. Even those these days some software creates sun rays, I choose to stick to natural sunbeams as only nature can create them like this. To create them would be to miss out on the real magic of nature and I am not willing to give up on the experience.
