With my drone, I took this shot over Piran, a charming town on the Slovenian coast. From the air, you can really see how special its location is: a narrow spit of land jutting out into the Adriatic, all built up with houses with red roofs that seem to lean against each other. At the far end stands the lighthouse and the round church of St Catherine, while the sea hugs the town from two sides.
Piran is known for its Venetian architecture, narrow streets and relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. From above, that heritage becomes even more tangible: it feels like looking back in time, to a place where the sea has always set the rhythm of life. What I particularly experienced while photographing was the harmony between city and nature - the vibrant colours of the rooftops against the deep blue-green of the sea.
As a work of art, this image brings warmth and character to the home. In a living room, it is a real eye-catcher that immediately evokes holiday feelings. In a kitchen or dining room, it also fits perfectly: a nod to the Mediterranean atmosphere and the cosiness of southern cities. For an office or workspace, on the other hand, it gives a touch of inspiration and a sense of freedom - as if you could embark on a journey at any moment.
This is more than a photo: it is a bird's eye view of one of Slovenia's most beautiful coastal towns, caught in the golden light of the Adriatic.
