The pink pelican occurs throughout much of southeastern Europe, Africa, western & central Asia and India.
The pink pelican eats mainly fish. The birds fish in groups. Together they drive a school of fish to shallow places in the water. There they then scoop up the fish with their beaks.
They grow up to 1.80 meters long and can have a wingspan of 3 meters and reach an age of 35 years. Both Eurasian species (the pink pelican and the crocus pelican) are among the largest flying birds.
