Pilot tender Deurloo full throttle out of the port of Vlissingen.
Standing on the quay in Vlissingen, I saw the pilot tenders pass by. The Belgian and Dutch in the port. The port of Vlissingen is therefore nicely in motion. The ships sailing up and down the Westerschelde have to be piloted safely into the port or out of the sea.
The speed of the pilot tenders, the thick waves they make, the bends and so on into the cramped harbor. They go on and off the large and smaller seagoing vessels. The Westerschelde is a busy river with many types of ships.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
