The triangular Piazza Giacomo Matteotti is the main square of Greve in Chianti. The square is about 500 years old and forms the historic center of the town of Greve. The church in the middle is the Basilica di Santa Croce. On the square there is also the Antica Macelleria Falorni, where you can taste and buy delicious local products. On the square there is also a monument to the great explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano and for the enthusiasts there is the statue "Torso alato" by the famous Polish sculptor Igor Mitoraj.
